Couldn't resist posting these pics

Close enough to a smile!
In our favorite onesie Aunt Brookie bought us.

Geeze, those cheeks!

The men in my life!

Catching you up with us!

Big Joey's eye surgery went well. Doc said he'll be seeing perfectly in a few short weeks. Also, LJ's shots couldn't have gone better. He wimpered for a few minutes, I fed him, and that was about it. Big Joey and I are getting out a little bit more. My mom babysat Sloane and LJ the other weekend and we went out with my sibs. It was a blast. We even got Hot Box to top the night off!
All of the girls that I worked with this past year had babies in 2008. We all finally went out to eat with the babes- it was sooo fun to seee them interact. Notice how I said "them." LJ is still too little- he just likes to sleep. From left to right- Abe Moore, Amy Moore, Leah, LJ, Emmie Darland, Tye Darland, Sadie Darlage, Audrey Darlage. I can't wait for all of them to grow up together!!
LJ is getting more alert every day. We are starting to get plenty of smiles. He's also packing on the lbs. We went to Doctor Kidd's (yes, our pediatrician's name is Dr. Kidd and he was actually Big Joey and my pediatrician too) last week for his 2 month check up and he weighed
14 lbs 12 oz. He was 97th percentile in weight, 90th in height, and 70th in head. He's a growing boy, and he loves his mommy's milk! This is what I'm talking about... A GROWING BOY!! Look at the belly!

We got a close up the other day when LJ was in his Keith Smart jersey. He has a hard time with the flash. We're hoping to post some smilin' pics soon.

Life is... oh, so good!

LJ turned eight weeks yesterday. He's starting to sleep a bit longer on his own and he is really enjoying his swing. He now smiles at me when I change his diaper, and he always recognizes Big Joey's voice when he's in the room. I went back to work (officially) yesterday, and it seemed to be a little easier than I had anticipated. Big Joey and I had our 1st Anniversary this past weekend. We celebrated by going to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse with the little man. Geeze, a lot has happened in the past year. People always told us "The first year is the hardest." I always wondered how marriage was going to be hard when you're married to the greatest guy there is... and I think I was right. As many obstacles we were put through, as many transitions we had to deal with, and as many situations we had to make "big time" decisions about... I think the first year was a piece of cake. Man, I'm lucky to have these two wonderful men in my life.

The precious look we get all day long!
Trying out our new jumper, however, we have about an inch or two more to grow.

My Little Man!

First time in the pool... he actually really enjoyed it.

First hair cut... and yes, I've already cut it twice. I'm sure you agree with me that this was the right thing to do... look how thick it was behind his ears and above his neck. We cut quite a bit... and I've cut it again since then. LJ is such a trooper!

His hair :)

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Oh, so true.

Random pics

LJ at his finest!! He turned 7 weeks today. Next week is a big one for us...we go in for his 8 week shots, I go back to work officially, and big Joey is getting Lasik eye surgery. Send a few prayers our way.
This is our back yard during the big flood!!! Toward the end of the day the backyard looked like the Mississippi River and you could hear it from the deck. We thought about riding down it on air mattresses, but there was too much debris. Clean up took a while, but things are looking better.
This is LJ's cousin Sloane. She's 5 months old and oooooooohhhhhhhh.....soooooo.... cute!!!!!!!! We are really looking foward to when they both can talk and play together. Nana is babysitting them both at the same time this week, so all of us can go to the Tom Petty concert. Should be interesting!!!
