The beginning

Here I am, now into my 25th week. I have had somewhat of a difficult pregnancy so far. I have experienced quite a bit of nausea. After trying everyones' remedies, (and realizing none of them worked for more than 3 minutes) I decided to throw in the towel on the nausea meds Doc prescribed and deal with it. It actually was my New Year's resolution. Some of the more interesting remedies involve eating Hot Tamales, eating Preggie Pops (which I needed every 20 minutes when my next patient would open their mouth -lots of dirty plaque and blood!), sucking on various candy, drinking Gatorade, taking Ginger root supplements, eating bags of Saltines and Club Crackers, drinking hot tea, working out (ya right), hot baths (which make me gag thinking about), and eating handfuls of Kix cereal before I rolled out of bed in the morn. After trying all of these and many more, I found out everyone is different and nothing will help me. I guess this is just God's way of making me a bit stronger before the babe comes.

Now, I'm just getting through one day at a time. Big Joey (I guess that's what I call him for now) has been great while I've been dealing with not feeling well, and my Doctor has been awesome too. I really lucked out being able to keep my OB. You see, I only have Fridays off of work and my Doctor is in surgery on Fridays, so it looked like I was going to have to find a new OB. My Doctor called me up and told me he'd make special arrangements to see me on Fridays after his surgery. I was so relieved to know I was going to be able to stay with the same Doc I've been with since I was 16. I have my next Doctor's appt. Feb 15 (my 28 week check up) and the 4D ultrasound on March 5. I'm so excited to see little Joey's face.
